The Black Box File Complete Guide with Challenges

From GTA BOOM Wiki

The FIB Files are a series of missions you can undertake as part of the Agents of Sabotage DLC.

In this guide, we'll walk you through the Black Box File mission, covering the planning work and finale. We'll also explain how to complete the challenges to secure the bonus payout.

In the Black Box File mission, you have three planning missions and a finale where you must crash an airplane, steal a black box, and deliver it to the buyer to complete the mission.

Planning Work: Hacking Device

In this mission, you need to head to the designated location, take out the enemies, and collect the hacking device.

The hacking device will always be somewhere on the table or on green military crates on the roof.

Once you've acquired the hacking device, take it to LSIA and plant it on the control tower. After that, leave LSIA to complete the mission.

Planning Work: Sonar Equipment

In this mission, you need to head to the docks and look for a tugboat. The tugboat will be heavily guarded, so make sure you take out the guards before boarding.

The sonar equipment is always inside the storage box at the front of the tugboat.

After acquiring the equipment, if you're not sure how to get back out on the docks, there will always be a set of ladders by the tugboat. Use these to get out.

Deliver the sonar equipment to the Garment Factory to complete the mission.

Planning Work: Weaponized Aircraft

In this planning work mission, you need to go to the Merryweather Barge in the middle of the sea and steal the Tula airplane. When you get close to the shore, you will have the option to get the Dinghy provided by one of Pavel's contacts. This is useful if you don't already have any of the flying vehicles such as a Buzzard helicopter or an Oppressor Mark II.

AOS Guide 9.jpg

It is recommended that you use either a Buzzard or an Oppressor Mark II, as the barge is heavily guarded and the homing missiles from these vehicles will help you clear out the barge security before you land on it.

Destroying barge security using the homing missiles from Oppressor Mark II.

Once you get into the Tula and fly it, some Merryweather attack helicopters will come after you. Switch to VTOL mode to hover your aircraft and take out the attack helicopters. The Tula doesn't have a homing missile feature, but it does have a machine gun that you can use to take them out.

AOS Guide 11.jpg
Enemy attack choppers appear.

If you're having difficulty aiming, we recommend switching to first-person mode. Even if you're in third-person mode, it is good practice is to not move the Tula up or down. Keep it straight while facing the enemy attack choppers and fire away.

AOS Guide 12.jpg
Stashing the Tula at LSIA.

After defeating the first wave of enemies, another wave of choppers will show up. Once you've defeated both waves, fly the Tula to LSIA and stash it there. Leave LSIA to complete this mission.

The Finale

First, you must go to the LSIA and hack the control tower where you planted the hacking device during the planning work mission. To hack the control tower, stand in the highlighted green zone on your minimap and press the prompt to start hacking.

To successfully complete the hack, you must connect the nodes from left to right and confirm. Keep doing it until you've got the correct ones. You will know you've attached the correct nodes when they stay in place. The ones not connected correctly will disconnect automatically and you can continue to do those, until you've connected all four nodes.

AOS Guide 14.jpg
You only get four attempts to complete this hack.

Once the plane has been rerouted, enter the parked Tula and catch up to the big plane in the air. Some enemy attack helicopters will be guarding the plane, but don't worry about those as they won't be too much of an issue.

AOS Guide 15.jpg
Uploading the virus.

What you must focus on is flying within the white zone that shows up on your minimap, pulling out your phone and using the SecuroServ app to start uploading the virus into the plane's system. Stay within the white highlighted region until the the upload is complete.

This is where the first challenge comes in. To complete the first challenge, you must destroy all four plane engines. You can use the Tula to fire at the four engines and destroy them all instantly, as they are very weak.

AOS Guide 16.jpg
Destroyed engines. Destroy all four to complete the first challenge.

After that, continue following the plane until you get a cutscene of the plane crashing. Right after the cutscene, continue flying your Tula to the crash site. You can land the plane on the water and dive underwater.

You will already have rebreathers equipped. In case you die after reaching the crash site, don't worry as you will respawn on a small speed boat right by the crash site.

When you're underwater, activate your sonar to see where the sunken contents of the plane are. This is where you can complete your second challenge for this mission. The second challenge is to collect all of the plane contents from the crash site.

AOS Guide 17.jpg
Extra content at the crash site. You must collect all extra loot for the completion of the second challenge.

Activating the sonar reveals where these items are. There will only be two extra items in addition to the black box. First, collect the extra items and then head into the crash and plant the bomb to blow open the area with the black box.

Once you've collected everything, head back up to the surface and look for the blue ally icon. This is Pavel's associate who brings a Dinghy for your escape.

When you reach the Dinghy at the surface, do not mount the front machine gun as it will lock your vision to see only the front of the boat. Instead, sit on the passenger seat and use one of your SMGs to take out the enemies. This also allows you to rotate the camera a full 360°, so you can easily shoot down enemies from all angles.

AOS Guide 21.jpg
Easily eliminating the cop chasing us.

To complete your final challenge for this mission, you must take out five enemies during your escape which you can do easily as a lot of cops will spawn along the river as the driver takes you to the drop-off point.

Once you've reached the drop-off point, head into the yellow marker to complete the mission.
